7 memorable experiences in Thailand

There are so many things that happened during our Thailand trip. I don't think I'll forget any of those any time soon, but for the sake of this blog post, I'll list down some of our most memorable experiences (and I say some because the most memorable ones shouldn't be published online for the world to read lol).
In wisdom gathered over time I have found that every experience is a form of exploration. Ansel Adams
And if you've never been to Thailand, I guess this could also serve you as a guide. (Do watch my video diary here if you haven't yet.)

Going to Ayutthaya. Tip? Go there in the morning so you have more time to go around. We got there at around 3:30pm, just enough time to visit a couple of temples. I'll definitely go back to Ayutthaya 'cause it deserves a full day visit.

Shopping at Chatuchak Market. If you’ll be in Bangkok on a weekend, go to Chatuchak and prepare your wallet. There are so many things you could find there. There are also food stalls and bars in case you get hungry and thirsty.

Enjoying Khao San Road. We spent two nights on Khao San road because, obviously, one night wasn't enough. We loved our Khao San Road escapades and Khao San loved us back, I guess. We met random people, received a rose, drank a bit too much, ate pad thai like crazy, walked aimlessly, people watched, went shopping, and simply enjoyed the whole experience.

Visiting Wat Pho, Wat Arun, The Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaew. You can't spend four or five days in Bangkok and not make time for at least one. It was absolutely amazing for me because I'm really into visiting and admiring the complexity of temples such as these.

Travelling hundreds of km by bus / minibus. We left Bangkok at 6pm and arrived in Koh Lanta after 18 hours. We were only there for 24 hours, but Koh Lanta is now officially one of my favorite places. I’m not a beach person at all, but who wouldn’t like a beautiful and almost empty beach? We almost stayed longer, but eventually opted to follow our original itinerary.
Lying on the beach. After drinking quite a bit of alcohol and deciding to chill on the beach, it was a nice surprise to realize that there were actually stars to be seen. We also ended up with sand everywhere (after two showers, I swear I still had sand in my hair!). Lying on the beach for hours with no particular plans, falling asleep, reading, and just enjoying the view. Two afternoons spent this way and I’m now a couple of shades darker (still! Even though this trip happened a couple of months ago).
Eating. It’s one of the things I enjoy the most when I visit another country. Trying different types of food and looking for cheap finds. I still can’t get over that delicious sushi we had in Phuket (as cheap as THB 6 / PHP 8 / less than USD 0.20!!!)
Thailand was incredible! I can't wait to plan a longer trip and explore other places. Time to save up again!

    1. This photo diary is so cute. I love all the side notes! I've only been to Thailand recently, but only in Bangkok. Would love to explore the country more and Koh Lanta just looked so dreamy! Maybe when I come back.

      1. Thanks so much! You should explore Thailand more next time. I'm going back this November. I'll be in Chiang Mai for Loy Krathong. :)
