2016 Wish List

I'm still working on my Thailand blog post (but you may watch my video diary here), so I decided to update my blog by publishing my wish list entry before Christmas.

Last December (check out my 2015 wish list here) I had wished for a few things that I was able to buy this year: I finally got a new laptop; I was able to go shopping a few times so I scored some new clothes and black boots; I found a Frankie magazine when I went to Kuala Lumpur; and, instead of buying a pocket wifi, I just decided to have wifi installed at my place.

This time I couldn't really think of a lot of things to put on my wish list. Sure, it would be nice to have a new phone, a new hard drive, and a new camera (I actually just included these three so my list wouldn't look empty lol), but those aren't really priorities. My phone of two years is still working albeit slowly giving up on me sigh; my current hard drive is still alive which is probably a miracle; and I've been able to take decent photos and videos with my current camera.

What I really want and look forward to in 2016 are the festivals (and concerts – Coldplay and Justin Bieber, I'm waiting for you to announce your Asian tour schedules!).

GoodVybes Fest is happening on February 20 and I am freaking out. A few months ago Passion Pit cancelled their concert in Manila, so I'm definitely excited to finally see Michael live after years of waiting. I've seen Chvrches twice already, but it'll be cool to hear their new stuff live.

Wanderland Music & Arts Festival will be on March 5. Mainly looking forward to seeing Death Cab For Cutie (I missed their concert in 2012 because of a 6-9pm class which I couldn't get out of tears and I'd been wishing for them to come back) and Blackbird Blackbird (I was obsessed with Summer Heart for a long while). Of course, Bon Iver will also be there and hearing Justin Vernon sing Skinny Love will probably make me cry (I'm not sure I'm ready for that).

THE Kanye West will be in Manila on April 9 for Paradise International Music Festival. Need I say more?! (Although I'm patiently waiting for the rest of the lineup to be revealed.)

Aside from these music-related wishes, I'm hoping I could go to a couple more Asian destinations next year. My trip to Saigon and Siem Reap is only three weeks away, but my friends and I have been talking about Hanoi, Bali, and Chiang Mai (Loy Krathong!) among others. I haven't applied for jobs yet, but I'm already thinking about those leaves lol.

It'll be a new year in a few days! May my 2016 be filled with unlimited salmon sashimi and pizza, great music, and wonderful adventures.

What's on your list? :)
