The happy list vol. 4

It’s always harder to find something that makes you smile and happy when you lose someone very close to you. Just a day after my last post, this happy list was ready to be posted. I was actually just waiting for the right time to publish it. But then, a day after Mother’s day, I found out that my closest aunt had passed away. I was devastated and, of course, updating my blog had become the last thing on my mind. A loss that big is heartbreaking, but knowing mama, I’m positive she would have wanted for all of us to continue looking for things to make us happy.

  • Despite losing you, I’m happy you aren’t suffering anymore, mama

  • I wish the circumstances were better, but I’m happy to have seen and spent time with my brother after four years of being apart and the rest of my family
The ones above were added due to what had happened. Here below is a longer list of happy instances:
  • Meeting new people

  • Finally watching new shows I’d heard great things about

  • Getting too many feels about one episode of one of my favorite tv shows

  • Enjoying my me time

  • Reading a new book

  • Planning new get togethers with block mates

  • Watching a movie with friends

  • Having lunch with friends and catching up

  • Drinking with friends and catching up

  • Restraining myself from shopping too much

  • Mochiko

  • Pizza

  • Finally getting a ref for my place

  • Listening to selected songs on repeat

  • Enjoying a particularly good cup of coffee

  • Enjoying great food

  • Surprisingly enjoying someone’s company

  • Unexpectedly getting along with someone

  • Having a girls’ night out

  • Looking forward to watching a couple of concerts

  • Having a few (but I really mean a lot of) drinks after a long day at work

  • Watching great OPM bands live
I’m really finding more ways to be happy and I can’t help but be grateful to have this new mindset.

Mama, thank you for all the wonderful things you did. Thank you for always wanting the best for us and for being a part of my happiness.
