Taken shortly before realizing that my tour guide and tour mates were nowhere to be found. Ended up getting left behind and riding a tuk tuk to Ta Prohm then a motorbike to Angkor Wat before finally finding the tour bus. Not the most ideal situation, but it was still a great day.I didn't plan on dedicating 2 and a half days to temple hopping, but when I arrived in Siem Reap I felt that it would be such a shame if I missed the opportunity to do that. And I'm glad I made that decision.
As mentioned in my From Vietnam to Cambodia blog post, I stayed at The Luxury Concept Hostel. Since there was a tour agency there, I just booked my Angkor Wat and Kompong Phluk tours with them. I bought a 3-day pass, which cost me $40 (around PHP 1,885) and I paid $13 (around PHP 615) for the Small Circuit Tour and $15 (around PHP 710) for the Grand Circuit Tour.
Small Circuit Tour: Bayon Temple, Ta Prohm, Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Phnom Bakheng
BAYON TEMPLE
OTW TO ANGKOR WAT
ANGKOR WAT
GATEWAY TO ANGKOR THOM
SUNSET AT PHNOM BAKHENG
Grand Circuit Tour: Pre Rup, Banteay Srei, Banteay Kdei, Prasat Ta Som, Preah Khan, East Mebon
BANTEAY SREI
PREAH KHAN
I decided to wake up at 3am on my third day of temple hopping, so I could catch the sunrise at Angkor Wat and go back to Ta Prohm because I wasn't able to appreciate it much on the first day since I was rushing and looking for my tour mates.
I was only able to visit 10 temples out of the almost 300 temples in Siem Reap alone, but I found the whole experience incredibly satisfying. The more I get to see new places the more I realize how beautiful it is out there!

I think it is a must to see the sunrise over Angkor Wat. But they say, you couldn't find a nice spot since it is always jam packed? Oh, not really sure. Anyway, nice photos. :)
ReplyDeleteIt was jam-packed when I went there even though I had woken up extra early, but it was still worth it. I was quite lucky since I was able to squeeze myself and had a pretty good spot. Thank you! :)
