Borough has been one of my favorite restaurants for a couple of years now. I remember enjoying my first time there a lot because I found the place stunning and because they served good drinks and a yummy pudding. I also remember going there one time at 3 am (yes, it’s open 24/7!) with my thesis mates because we felt the need to leave my condo and just go somewhere else.
Every single meal I had at Borough was enjoyable and filled with happy memories with different sets of friends. Last Saturday’s brunch was no different and it was quite special too because I was able to spend time with a friend I hadn’t seen in months.
I think Borough is a great place to have a date with someone or to have a meal and a drink or two with friends.
I usually just order either drinks or a random dessert whenever I’m at Borough, but since we were having brunch I needed to eat something heavier. I chose their Homemade Pumpkin Ravioli, which didn’t disappoint, and an Electric Lemonade to go with it. It might have been too early for a drink, but I have work on Saturdays and November 30 was a holiday. I had to enjoy the day as much as I could.
After leaving Ortigas, I got home to a nice surprise: my Sony Cybershot DSC-WX300! (After writing that post about being indecisive and choosing between cameras last week, I decided to order the WX300. Perhaps I should also write a post entitled, “When I’m Impulsive”…). I had waited for more than a week and I was beyond excited. It was smaller than I had expected and it felt light in my hands. Of course, I took the opportunity to bring it with me at the Fort so I could test it right away.
Early Bird Breakfast Club is a pretty place, but I had heard mixed reviews about it. Leica and I ended up there anyway while waiting for another friend.
One lucky thing about me is this: whenever I eat out with friends, I rarely end up with crappy food. I just read through the menu carefully and choose whichever entices me most. That evening, I chose their Bacon and Eggs Nest and it was heavenly!
I also ordered their Butterbeer because I wanted to know how it tasted like. (I’m a Harry Potter fan, of course.) It was so yummy I almost ordered another one, but chose to go with their Morning Mojito, which is probably one of the best cocktails I’ve tasted so far, instead.
Here’s Leica and me while waiting for my food.
This has got to be Leica’s favorite pose.
Here’s a picture of me taking pictures of my food for Instagram. Nope, not sorry. Yup, I could fill my whole feed with food pictures if I wanted to. Sometimes I think I eat too much… Oh, well.
(Borough pictures were taken with an iPhone 4s; Early Bird Breakfast Club pictures were taken with a Sony WX300. All pictures were edited using Afterlight and VSCO apps.)
